The ancient Asian art/science of cultivating and controlling energy flow, known as Qi Gong, is thought of as magic to the unfamiliar. However, for those who have developed the ability to feel electromagnetic energy, or Qi, the benefits quickly become apparent. Not only does feeling energy change your entire perspective on the interconnectedness of the universe, but the tangible benefits of a calm mind and relaxed body are also quickly apparent. For the inexperienced, it may be surprising to learn that the benefits of Qi Gong have been widely studied scientifically and there are even Qi Gong hospitals that treat Cancer, Heart Disease and virtually all other diseases – successfully! You can read more about Qi Gong medical research at http://bit.ly/Qi_Gong_Research and a good site with lots of links at http://bit.ly/Qi_Gong
If you are interested in learning to do Qi Gong, I recommend www.qigong.com. Jeff Primack has done a fantastic job of making the sensations felt during Qi Gong easily visualized on his DVDs. If you are serious about deeply experiencing the healing, blissful energy felt during Qi Gong you will want to seek out one of the Supreme Science Qi Gong workshops. There is one in Chicago March 6-9. I know I’m looking forward to it.
What you wear during Qi Gong (also Tai Chi, Ba Gua, Hsing Yi) matters. It is best to wear shoes which have a sole of natural material, such as cotton, so that the flow of energy from feet to ground is not impeded. I wear these shoes from Karate Depot.
I have found no other form of meditation, exercise or spiritual practice that compares to the blissful experience of Qi Gong. If you are interested in a proven method that can help you to relax mind and body, improve strength and flexibility, and promote a feeling of expanded self -- begin this wonderful practice and have an ally for life.
Peace and Health,
