The Winter Solstice, being the shortest day of the year, is a time to focus on the light. In this meditation, you will be seated and tapping into the power of the breath. As the energy increases, you will feel enlivened at each energy center (chakra, nerve center) that we focus on; the first, second and finally the third where we will invoke solar energy. Finally, we will end with our focus on the fourth energy center and the feeling of universal love.
Toward the end of this meditation I instruct to hold and gently squeeze your left little finger with your right hand. I have you do this at the time that you are feeling maximal heart opening and love. This is called an anchor. The more intense your feeling and the more often you do the meditation, the more "charged" your anchor will become. Throughout your daily life, when you are feeling down, or disconnected, and you need a pick me up, you can gently squeeze your left little finger, take a few breaths and feel the positive emotional state from your meditation return. Instant love.
So find a quiet place, with a good chair, blow your nose, and get ready to breathe and feel enlivened!
