What is The Coherence ExperienceTM?
In short, it is a term I coined to describe a heightened physiological and experiential state. It is a state of being optimized at the level of heart and brain waves (EKG and EEG). When you have a Coherence ExperienceTM several of the following are often present:
- A calm mind with few thoughts
- A relaxed body with progressive relaxation throughout the meditation
- Warmth or heat as oxygenation and blood flow increase
- Vibration due to high oxygenation stimulating mitochondria and increasing the charge density (energy) of conductive tissues
- Pulsing due to improved blood flow and nerve plexus activation
- Seeing light or hearing sound due to stimulation of cranial nerves
- Expanded states of consciousness and A-ha moments
What is Breath Powered MeditationTM?
I guess I like to coin terms, because Breath Powered MeditationTM
is what I call the collection of meditative techniques that I teach. The hallmark of these techniques is the prominent role the breath plays in producing positive results. When the breath is activated the body is energized and the mind awakened. Breathing in a dynamic fashion generates The Coherence ExperienceTM and separates Breath Powered MeditationTM from standard, dare I say snoozy, styles.
What is the Warrior's RebootTM?
The Warrior's RebootTM is a quick introduction to Breath Powered MeditationTM where you learn the basics of breathing in this dynamic fashion. It is a great way to quickly blow off stress and put yourself in a more peaceful state. It can be enjoyed when you are sitting in your car (parked) with a few minutes to spare, or when you have encountered a stressful situation and you need a "reboot". Get it? Warrior's Reboot. What is Breath Empowerment?

What is the Warrior's Breath?
It is a vigorous breath, in and out through the nose. All the way in and all the way out. The breath is drawn into the upper chest and the focus in on the tip of the nose. The chest should actually move as you use conscious effort to engage the breathing muscles and draw the breath into the chest. There is an audible sound to the Warrior’s Breath. You will hear your breath rushing in and out as you breathe. The focus and effort is on the inhale, and on the exhale you just let gravity do the work. You relax on the exhale. You are like a warrior running into battle. Although this is a vigorous breath, you should not breathe so strenuously that you create tension. Try it now!
What is the Belly Breath?
This breath is also in and out through the nose but you are breathing long and slow into your abdomen. Ideally, you will fill your entire abdomen by breathing into the lowest portion first, then filling the middle, and finally the upper abdomen. As you inhale, the abdomen will expand until there is a tiny bit of tension or fullness, you may feel pulsing at this point, but it is not necessary so don’t over think it; and as you exhale the abdomen falls. Of course, we don’t really breathe into our abdomen, we breathe into our lungs, but breathing in this way will help you to fill the lowest portion of your lungs which are underutilized. Breathe your Belly Breaths as slowly as feels comfortable for you.
